(B)Anti-Colonial struggle and different visions about independent India.
Unit-2:Constitution of India and Education
(A)  Constitutional Vision at Independent India;then & now.
(B)  Constitution and India: Concurrent states of Education.
(C)  Policies Arts & Provisions related to education and children with special references to their context(class,caste,tribe,religion,language & gender)
(D)  Equality and justice in Indian constitution, different school system and the idea & common neighbourhood school.
(E)  Right to Education act,2009.
Unit-3:Democracy in India
(A)Democratic systems and institutional structures: Party system and electoral politics. The centre and the state, the Judiciary, Legislature & Executive.
(B)Decentralization and Panchayeti Raj(Specially through 73rd &74th ammendment)
(C)Inequalities of caste, class gender and religions and linguistic identites.
Unit-4:Indian Economy
(A)Issues and debates on Globalization, Liberalizatio and Privatization of economy.
(B) Unorganised sector and migrant labour.
Unit-5:Some suggested projects on contemporary Indian Issues(any two)

(C) Children with disability and inclusive education.
(D)Role of Media in Democracy.
(E) Understanding childhood in India.
(F) Construct of the child and school in RTE act
(G)Marginalization and education in the context of conflict.
